This fun and energetic class introduces young learners to the exciting world of music and dance from around the globe! Through engaging activities, simple songs, and lively movement, children will explore how different cultures use music to tell stories and express joy.

Musical Genres: We'll listen to and identify different sounds, rhythms, and instruments found in genres like classical, jazz, pop, and folk music. Children will learn simple musical concepts like fast/slow (tempo) and loud/quiet (dynamics).

Global Dances: Students will learn basic steps and movements from various dance styles, including the waltz, hip-hop (free-form movement), ballet (using posture and grace), and simple cultural folk dances (like a basic line or circle dance).

Creative Expression: Every lesson encourages children to move their bodies creatively to the music, developing coordination, rhythm, and listening skills while building confidence and having fun!

Step into the world of movie-making! In this hands-on class, students will explore the fascinating process of video editing; including using green screens, black screens and white screens to create and add unique backgrounds. They’ll learn the basics of editing techniques – clipping videos, layering scenes and manipulating transitions. Working in small groups, students will produce their own short film, bringing their creative visions to life.

In this small-group setting, students will learn piano at their own pace. Each child will receive one-on-one instruction with Ms. Crystal during class, followed by independent practice on their own piano station while waiting for their next turn. Class size is limited to 4 students to ensure personalized attention and progress for every child. (Children younger than 7 must have an adult attend with them.)

This course provides an introduction to theatrical production through the study and performance of a one-act play. Students will begin by collaboratively determining the script—either by writing an original one-act play together or by selecting an existing published work. Throughout the semester, students will engage in all stages of the production process, including script development or adaptation, character study, staging, prop and scenery creation, and performance technique. The class will be student-led and participants will take on leadership roles in bringing the production to life. The class will conclude with a formal showcase performance demonstrating students’ applied skills in acting, design, and technical theater.

Solving the Mystery of the Dead Fish

In this immersive, mystery-based science class, students will put on their detective caps to investigate what’s really happening in the fictional “Gray Area.” Through hands-on activities and guided inquiry, young investigators will learn to integrate information from charts, graphs, test results, and field observations as they uncover clues about environmental problems such as pollution or declining species. They’ll explore key concepts in ecology, earth science, and environmental stewardship while practicing critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning.

Journey back in time and step into the shoes of people living in the great West African empires of Ghana, Mali, and Songhai. In this immersive role-playing adventure, students will explore ancient African history by imagining daily life, making decisions faced by real historical figures, and experiencing how geography, culture, trade, and leadership shaped these powerful civilizations. Through collaborative storytelling and hands-on challenges, we’ll bring history to life and discover how the past influences the world we know today.

This hands-on, interactive class transforms the wonders of the season—from buzzing bees and blooming flowers to rainbows and rain—into fun, age-appropriate learning projects.

Science in Bloom: Watch colors travel up flowers (capillary action) and discover the secret lives of busy bees and wiggly worms.

Creative Engineering: Design and build protective nests, construct sturdy honeycomb structures, and engineer small boats to test buoyancy.

Art & Mathematics: Experiment with colors to create vibrant rainbows, explore the geometry of nature (like hexagons), and practice measuring and counting.

Technology & Tools: Learn to safely use simple tools like droppers, tweezers, and magnifying glasses for observation and exploration.

Every week is a new chance to tinker, test, and discover, giving your child the confidence to ask "How does that work?" and find the answer through playful experimentation. Get ready for a season of curiosity and creation!
